About Wren & Rumor
Wren & Rumor began in Dallas, Texas, shortly before my daughter, Grey, was born. While searching for stylish swaddle blankets, I couldn’t find anything that felt like me—so I started designing my own. What began as a small collection of blankets, sold online and at local markets, has grown into a design-driven brand offering wallpaper, textiles, and artwork for modern kids’ spaces.
Today, Wren & Rumor is both a product line and a creative studio—where I design original surface patterns, develop cohesive collections, and create thoughtful, modern pieces for nurseries, kids’ rooms, and beyond. Every design starts the same way: something I want to live with in my own home. If I wouldn’t use it, I won’t make it.
I’m Jill Patterson, the designer behind Wren & Rumor, now based in Greenville, South Carolina, where I live with my husband, Mike, and our two kids. I hold a degree in Textile Technology from North Carolina State University’s College of Textiles and began my career as a CAD Designer before continuing my education in Communication Design. I later worked as a Graphic Designer in the print industry, building a strong foundation in production, layout, and visual communication.
In addition to running Wren & Rumor, I work in a creative school environment where I support and teach students in a makerspace setting. This experience continues to shape how I approach design—keeping it hands-on, thoughtful, and rooted in both creativity and function.
